Great Lakes Compact (MN, WI, MI)

Fire Danger: Fire danger was mainly low to moderate with one unit reporting high in the UP of Michigan on 7-29.

Fire Weather:  Mainly dry conditions are forecast over the majority of the compact through the rest of the week.  Scattered showers are possible over the central and eastern Great Lakes Friday into Friday night as a cool front sinks through these areas out of Ontario.  

 

Big Rivers Compact (IA, MO, IL, IN)

Fire Danger: Fire danger was low to moderate.

Fire Weather:   Mainly dry conditions are forecast across the majority of the compact this week allowing fuels to dry out.  Scattered showers or storms will affect far southwestern Missouri into Wednesday evening.  A few showers are possible over northern Indiana on Friday into Friday evening as a cool front sinks southward through the eastern Great Lakes.  

 

Northeast Compact (NY, MA, CT, RI, VT, NH, ME)

Fire Danger: Fire danger was mainly low to.

Fire Weather:  Scattered showers are expected over parts of the compact Wednesday afternoon into Thursday.  Mainly dry conditions are forecast on Saturday into early Sunday with additional rainfall expected Sunday into Monday night.

 

Mid-Atlantic Compact (OH, PA, NJ, DE, MD, WV)

Fire Danger: Fire danger was low to moderate.

Fire Weather:  Scattered showers and storms will develop over the west and north on Wednesday and over the entire compact on Friday into Sunday morning.

Fuels/Fire Potential

Parts of the western Great Lakes down into the Big Rivers are forecast to continue drying out over the next 7 days. The driest fuels will be across the central and southern Big Rivers.

Resources

Resources are expected to be adequate across the Eastern Area this forecast period.
