Great Lakes Compact

Fire Danger:  Fire danger was mainly low to moderate.

Fire Weather:  Areas of showers and storms will continue to spread gradually eastward through the compact into Thursday as a low over the Upper Mississippi Valley advances slowly eastward.  Some of the storms may be strong to severe across the eastern Great Lakes into Tuesday evening.  More scattered and lighter precipitation is forecast across the western Great Lakes Wednesday night into Thursday.  The compact will dry out Thursday night into the first part of the Memorial Day weekend.   Rain chances then increase across the southwestern third of the compact Saturday night into Sunday. 

 

Big Rivers Compact

Fire Danger: Fire danger was mainly low to moderate.

Fire Weather:  Showers and storms will continue across the southeastern half of the compact into Wednesday ahead of a cool front.  This front is associated with a low drifting slowly eastward through the Great Lakes.  Some of the storms will be strong to severe across the southern and eastern Big Rivers into Tuesday night.  The compact will then dry out Thursday night into Saturday.  Rain chances increase once again Sunday into Memorial Day.    

 

Northeast Compact

Fire Danger:  Fire danger was mainly low to moderate.

Fire Weather:   Areas of showers and storms will spread through the compact through the rest of the work week reducing fire potential.  Mainly dry conditions are expected Memorial Day weekend allowing fuels to gradually dry out. 

 

Mid-Atlantic Compact

Fire Danger: Fire danger was mainly low to moderate.                                 

Fire Weather:   Areas of showers and storms will spread through the compact through the rest of the work week reducing fire potential.  Mainly dry conditions are expected across the majority of the compact Memorial Day weekend allowing fuels to gradually dry out.  Showers and storms are possible across the southwestern Mid-Atlantic States Sunday into Memorial Day.

Fuels/Fire Potential

Fire potential will decrease across the eastern Great Lakes and the eastern states through mid week as precipitation spreads eastward from the Great Lakes and Big Rivers.

Resources

Resources are expected to be adequate across the Eastern Area this forecast period.
