Great Lakes Compact (MN, WI, MI)

Fire Danger: Fire danger was low to moderate.

Fire Weather:  Strong south winds will affect the western Great Lakes into Wednesday evening.  Scattered showers and a few storms will affect the compact from west to east Wednesday afternoon into Thursday evening as low pressure and its cool front drifts into the western parts of the compact.  The LP of Michigan will likely remain dry.  Mainly dry conditions are forecast over the compact Friday into Sunday.

 

 

Big Rivers Compact (IA, MO, IL, IN)

Fire Danger: Fire danger was low to moderate.

Fire Weather:  Mainly dry conditions are forecast over the majority of the compact over the next six days.  Strong south winds will affect the northwestern Big Rivers into Wednesday evening.  Scattered showers and a few storms are possible over the western Big Rivers Wednesday evening into Thursday morning. 

 

 

Northeast Compact (NY, MA, CT, RI, VT, NH, ME)

Fire Danger: Fire danger was mainly low to moderate.

Fire Weather:  Low pressure located off the Mid-Atlantic coast Wednesday morning is forecast to strengthen and drift northeast up the New England coast through the end of the work week.  Rainfall and strong winds will persist over New England into Friday as the low progresses up the coast.  Additional rainfall is expected this weekend. 

 

 

Mid-Atlantic Compact (OH, PA, NJ, DE, MD, WV)

Fire Danger: Fire danger was low to moderate.

Fire Weather:  Low pressure located off the Mid-Atlantic coast is forecast to strengthen and drift northeast up the New England coast through the end of the work week.  Areas of rainfall and strong winds will persist over the eastern half of the compact into Thursday.  Mainly dry conditions are forecast over the majority of the compact Friday into the weekend.  Scattered showers are possible over the northeastern half of the compact on Saturday.

Fuels/Fire Potential

The majority of the Great Lakes and Big Rivers will dry out over the next 5 days.  

Resources

Resources are expected to be adequate across the Eastern Area this forecast period.
