Weather

**Last Issuance**

A zonal westerly flow aloft will result in dry and breezy to windy conditions across the RMA during the early portion of this outlook. Windy west-southwest winds and dry RH will be most notable through Monday across Wyoming, northwest Colorado, western South Dakota, and northwest Nebraska. A shift in this weather pattern is expected to develop by Wednesday and especially Thursday as an upper trough and surface front migrates initially from the northern Rockies, then across the entire RMA by Friday. Expect an increase in coverage of precipitation each day across the region Wednesday through Friday, as well as progressively cooler temperatures and lowering snow levels.

Fuels/Fire Potential

**Last Issuance**

A slight increase in fire potential can be expected through Monday across southwest South Dakota, portions of the lower elevations of central to southern Wyoming, northwest Nebraska, and northwest Colorado with windy and dry conditions. Overall though, large fire risk remains low across most of the Rocky Mountain Area as a result of wet conditions over the last couple of weeks, as well as predicted moisture during this outlook.

Resources

The RMA is currently at a preparedness level 2.
